Description

Height: 65 Centimeters; Width: 65 Centimeters; Depth: 65 Centimeters

Jakobssons masterpiece chandelier the T348/3 “Pastoral” was created in 1959 and produced throughout the 1960s. It was made in several versions with different amounts of light sources. This is the smallest version with 3 glass globes and with full length centre stave.

The hand made globes on this one are the early version that was later changed to glass with drilled holes that hang on metal pegs on the lamp sockets. The advantage of these “clamp version style” is that they look like the globe is floating in the air but the disadvantage is that they tend to get nagged along the fine edges from taking them on and off. When in place however they are steady and apart from the edges there are no further cracks or damage in the glass.

The brass is patinated through the years which can be polished off, however personally I prefer the aged look as in the photos.

The globes are hand blown smoked glass and are all slightly different in size, wight and thickness. All the original designers labels are intact.

Standard E27 light bulb socket.

Hans-Agne Jakobsson was undeniably one of the world’s most versatile and productive lighting designers and manufacturers in the fifties, sixties and seventies. He was also one of the best and most important designers in the Scandinavian era of golden and soft non-dazzle light. His earlier designs follow Scandinavian giants such as Poul Henningsen, Paavo Tynell and Alvar Aalto and he should be seen as important as the concurrent world renowned Nordic lighting designers Greta Magnusson-Grossman, Lisa Johansson-Pape, Verner Panton and Jo Hammerborg.

I try to make the pictures reflect the true look, color and condition of the piece. If you have any questions or want additional photos please send a PM before buying.
