Large pendant light with golden finish by Jeka Metaltryk. Denmark 1970s

Width: 40 centimeters, Height: 25 centimeters, Depth: 40 centimeters

Large aluminum pendant light with golden finish from Danish manufacturer Jeka Metaltryk. Constructed from one large aluminum disc where light exits at the top creating a decorative glow on the top aluminum cone. Spreads a wide soft neutral light downwards and two golden aluminum rings around the light bulb protects from glare. This light is straight and sturdy with no dents but it has some scratches and some unremovable corrosion marks as seen in the photos. The damage is well reflected in the price.

Standard E27 light bulb.

JEKA Lamps, also called Jeka Metaltryk, was started by the designer Kurt Wiborg, who was trained as a metal printer at Georg Jensen’s Sølvsmedie from 1954 to 1959, including 4 years at the crafts school. The start of JEKA (the name inspired by the Jutish saying: “Je ka” I can!) was in a basement room in Nørrebro in Copenhagen in 1965. The products were initially lamp parts for other lamp factories such as Lyfa & Fog and Mørup, but from 1970 Kurt Wiborg’s own designs started which he also exported to USA and England as well as several other countries.

I try to make the pictures reflect the true look, color and condition of the piece. If you have any questions or want additional photos please send a PM before buying.
