Orange pendant light T 742 by Hans-Agne Jakobsson for H-A Jakobsson AB, Markaryd. Sweden 1960s

Sold Out

Height: 30 Centimeters; Width: 45 Centimeters; Depth: 45 Centimeters

This is an orange version of one of Hans-Agne Jakobssons big decorative aluminum pendant lights. The iconic T 742. It is constructed from 5 aluminium plates where the first 4 have white lacquer on the inside and the bottom one with matte black. The slightly overlapping rings reflect the light downwards ont the next giving the shade spectacular look. It also spreads a soft warm light downwards perfect for a large dinner table. This is a very rare orange edition.

The light is in good condition with only light scratches consistent with age. Designers and producer label intact.

Hans-Agne Jakobsson was undeniably one of the world’s most versatile and productive lighting designers and manufacturers in the fifties, sixties and seventies. He was also one of the best and most important designers in the Scandinavian era of golden and soft non-dazzle light. His earlier designs follow Scandinavian giants such as Poul Henningsen, Paavo Tynell and Alvar Aalto and he should be seen as important as the concurrent world renowned Nordic lighting designers Greta Magnusson-Grossman, Lisa Johansson-Pape, Verner Panton and Jo Hammerborg.

It takes a standard E27 light bulb.

I try to make the pictures reflect the true look, color and condition of the piece. If you have any questions or want additional photos please send a PM before buying.
