This pair of medium sized pendant lights called “Life” were designed by Jo Hammerborg and manufactured by Fog & Mørup in Denmark during the 1970s. They features a green powder-coated aluminum shade and a center tube in brass alloyed aluminum. The sticker from F&M is still present on the inside of the shade.

Good condition but with some slight scratching on one of the green shades. Standard E27 light bulb sockets. The lights are rewired for safety. Only sold as a pair.

Johannes (Jo) Hammerborg grew up right outside of Randers, in a regular middle-class family. He trained as a silversmith, participated in Denmark’s resistance and struggle for freedom in 1940-45 as a saboteur, studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and worked as a silversmith at Georg Jensen. In 1957, he was hired as a chief designer at the lamp manufacturer Fog & Mørup, where he worked until 1980.

And now, decades later, his coveted lamps are in high demand, and they are being sold in antique shops.

I try to make the pictures reflect the true look, color and condition of the piece. If you have any questions or want additional photos please send a PM before buying.
