Description

Height: 30 centimeters, Width: 8 centimeters, Depth: 8 centimeter.

Pair of aluminium tubular pendant lights, “Trombone” by Jo Hammerborg for Fog & Mørup. Brushed aluminium on the outside and orange/red matte lacquer on the inside. The placement of the light bulb creates a stunning toned fire-like glow in the perforations of the tubes.

Good condition but with some scratches and traces of time in the aluminum as seen in the last image. No dents. The damage is well reflected in the price.

Standard E27 lightbulb.

Johannes (Jo) Hammerborg grew up right outside of Randers, in a regular middle-class family. He trained as a silversmith, participated in Denmark’s resistance and struggle for freedom in 1940-45 as a saboteur, studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and worked as a silversmith at Georg Jensen. In 1957, he was hired as a chief designer at the lamp manufacturer Fog & Mørup, where he worked until 1980.

And now, decades later, his coveted lamps are in high demand, and they are being sold in antique shops.

I try to make the pictures reflect the true look, color and condition of the piece. If you have any questions or want additional photos please send a PM before buying.
