Description

Width: 27 centimeters, Height: 40 centimeters, Depth: 27 centimeters

A pair of restored pendant light from well known Danish lamp manufacturer LYFA. They consist of a thick polystyrene base with shades made from metal rings attached together in order to spred the light upwards and down.

They are taken apart, cleaned, sanded and repainted with a satin turquoise lacquer on the outside of the metal shades and a sand beige inside. The top of the polystyrene cones are enforced with steel plates. The electric installation consists of new brass E27 light bulb sockets and new white textile cables.

LYFA started in approximately 1924 in Ballerup, Denamark but was then called Copenhagen’s Lysekronefabrik. They changed the name to LYFA in 1930,
and where, strongly inspired by Poul Henningsen, a number of table lamps were created in the same style which resulted in a number of lawsuits.

In 1950 ideas of their own started and they started collaboration with architects and designers who created very sculptural lamps that won design awards at home and abroad. In the mid-70s LYFA merged with Fog & Mørup but the lamps was always sold under its own brand.

I try to make the pictures reflect the true look, color and condition of the piece. If you have any questions or want additional photos please send a PM before buying.
