Description
A pair of wall sconces by Claus Bolby for CEBO industries. Constructed from a metal cylinder with a central opening by the light socket and covered with yellow acrylic sheets stacked on top of each other. The air bubbles in the acrylic creates a stunning light effect. The sides are also covered with yellow transparent acrylic to create a yellow shine on the wall accompanied by clear light exiting at the top of the cylinder.
The lights are rewired for safety. Standard E15 lamp socket. Good vintage condition with minor scratches and marks.
Born in 1944, Bolby came to lighting design and production in his early 20s and remained active in the field until he became ill in 2009. He was not one to dwell on the past, and was amused to discover that his 1960s light designs had become popular collectors’ items and were undergoing a thriving trade in cyberspace.
