Description

Height: 18 centimeters, Width: 35 centimeters, Depth: 35 centimeters

Pendant light from well known Danish manufacturer Lyfa. The light consists of a perspex (plastic) core that produces glare-free but effective illumination. A thick metal disc is placed in the center of the core so that the light spreads a wide neutral shine down over a table or object and the part above the disc spreads a soft light upwards. The small brass cable holder on the top is an elegant detail. A minimalistic yet very functional pendant light.

Danish architect-designer Bent Karlby was born in Århus in 1912 and graduated from his hometown’s technical school around 1932. During World War II, he joined the Danish resistance movement, contributing to the illegal Danish Journal and assisting Dansk-Svensk refugees. Most of Karlby’s lighting designs for Lyfa possess a “Space Age” aesthetic expressed in metal, acrylic, or glass.

Good condition with only minimal signs of use.

Standard E 27 light bulb socket. Rewired for safety.

I try to make the pictures reflect the true look, color and condition of the piece. If you have any questions or want additional photos please send a PM before buying.
