Description

Height: 17 Centimeters; Width: 25 Centimeters; Depth: 25 Centimeters

Original copper colored “Juno” pendant by Jo Hammerborg. The Juno is a medium sized pendant light with great white flow downwards and the classic reflector ring along the sides.

The top ring is actually a cylinder shape, open in the bottom, and closed on top. The top part features Jo Hammerborg’s signature “peep holes” for the light to peak trough, adding emission of a unique pattern of light. It also houses the bulb mount.

The Juno was designed in 1966, with copper lacquered top and bottom shades, and the center ring painted a matte black – a classic Hammerborg design trademark.

In 1969 Jo Hammerborg and F&M produced a Rainbow Line, which featured a number of existing lamp designs (and a few new ones) now offered in vibrant full colored versions. The colors were red, yellow, blue and white.

This is one of the early ones in good condition with some light scratches and a bit of rust marks inside.

Fog & Mørup label intact, standard E27 light bulb. Rewired for safety with a new lamp socket and black textile cable.

Johannes (Jo) Hammerborg grew up right outside of Randers, in a regular middle-class family. He trained as a silversmith, participated in Denmark’s resistance and struggle for freedom in 1940-45 as a saboteur, studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and worked as a silversmith at Georg Jensen. In 1957, he was hired as a chief designer at the lamp manufacturer Fog & Mørup, where he worked until 1980.

And now, decades later, his coveted lamps are in high demand, and they are being sold in antique shops.

I try to make the pictures reflect the true look, color and condition of the piece. If you have any questions or want additional photos please send a PM before buying.
