Triple glass pendant light with teak wood base. Sweden 1960s

Height: 24 centimeters, Width: 24 centimeters, Depth: 24 centimeters

A very high quality triple pendant light with hand blown opaline glass shades. The shades hang from a tree armed teakwood base and it can easily be altered to any height both from the wooden base to the ceiling or from the base to the shades. The opaline shades are in perfect condition with no dings or marks.

Each shade is 24 cm tall and has a diameter of 12 cm. The teak wood base is 24 cm wide.

Sweden has a very rich tradition in glass making that stretches all the way back to the iron age with several hundreds of glassworks. Sometimes the glass works worked on assignment for designers and producers but also made lights from scratch. I have not been able to locate the origins of this pendant but to judge from the “made in Sweden” labels, the material and shape the most probable is Reijmyre, Flygsfors or Alsterfors who all made this kind of shades and used this sort of label. You can tell the fine work of the shades from the fact that the thickness and shape varies slightly on close examination.

The light is rewired for safety. Standard E27 light bulb sockets.

I try to make the pictures reflect the true look, color and condition of the piece. If you have any questions or want additional photos please send a PM before buying.
