Description

Width: 75 centimeters, Height: 22 centimeters, Depth: 75 centimeters

Scandinavian style wall lamp in solid teak wood with a shade from Danish glass manufacturer “Holmegaard”. These so called scissor lamps in wood were very popular in Scandinavia during the 1960s. It stretches out to a full 90 cm and folds down to about 20. It is also adjustable sideways. The hand blown glass globe is 23 x 20 cm. These lamps were often made in dark dyed pine wood but this is a solid teak construction.

Very good condition. No nags or marks in the glass globe and only very slight signs of use in the wood. Standard E27 light bulb. Rewired for safety.

Holmegaard, originally established in 1825, is Denmark’s oldest and largest glass manufacturer. Although much of its early work is thought to be derivative and inconsequential, between the 1930s and 1980s, the designs of Jacob E. Bang, Per Lütken, and Bang’s son, Michael are considered to have transformed the company into a powerhouse of Danish design.

I try to make the pictures reflect the true look, color and condition of the piece. If you have any questions or want additional photos please send a PM before buying.
